The Origin of Doctor Strange
Doctor Stephen Strange, a renowned neurosurgeon, first appeared in Marvel Comics in 1963. Doctor Strange (2016)
The 2016 film "Doctor Strange" introduced the character to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Directed by Scott Derrickson, the film follows Strange's transformation from a brilliant but flawed surgeon into a master of the mystic arts. After his encounter with the Ancient One (Tilda Swinton), Strange embraced his destiny as Earth's Sorcerer Supreme, protecing the planet from mystical threats.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022)
In the 2022 sequel "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness," directed by Sam Raimi, Strange is forced to confront the consequences of his actions in the previous film. Teaming up with the teenage America Chavez (Xochitl Gomez), who possesses the ability to travel across different universes, Strange must enfrent other-universe versions of himself, including an evil doppelgänger. Along the way, he is aided by fellow sorcerers Wong (Benedict Wong) and Mordo (Chiwetel Ejiofor), as well as Rachel McAdams as Christine Palmer.
